The days are getting longer and it’s less than a month until World of Wheels 2019 kicks off; slowly but surely we’re getting closer to another car season, but we’re not there yet. As I type this snow is still building up outside and we’ve (not surprisingly) not yet had a proper garage day or meet but things are in motion at least; Brian was finally able to source the front lip that he’d been hunting for – so it’s now on its way to him – and I have some spacers on order for Mustard as well. Sriracha still has a couple of items waiting to be fitted (and incidentally Mario has a pair of FiST canards for sale in case anyone’s interested) but it’s actually my mother’s Thunderbird which is seeing the most work at the moment; its original front seats have just been restored and are ready for re-installation, while a number of other jobs have been crossed off the to-do list including LED lighting for the tail lights and converting it to the ’68+ electric headlight doors (as opposed to the original, and tired, ’67 vacuum-operated units). It has been a few years since the ‘bird has seen any substantial work so it’ll be nice to see it take a sizable step further along in its restoration/modification process.
Anyway, before I get around to some other work this evening I wanted to get these photos up on the site for your viewing pleasure, and as a way to quickly teleport back to those warm summer evenings spent hanging out at the business park; it’s back to Cars and Coffee we go! Looking ahead to 2019’s gatherings, we should expect to see some GT2RSs and possibly even a Senna or two (my fingers are crossed for those – I adore the Senna) on top of the usual, and amazing, assortment of cars that call Calgary home.
I hope everyone’s staying warm tonight, and that you all enjoy the photos below. There’s even one of a Corgi for good measure.
