This was the first weekend that truly felt like a warm-up for car season. Not only did I get in the first drives of the year with the Grand Prix and S15 (albeit a very brief one for the latter), but the Thunderbird also had a few miles added to the odometer…which in turn revealed a couple of minor things to address following its engine work over the winter. It’s a good thing the shakedown is starting early! The garage was tidied up a bit in preparation for some planned install days next month, and I carried on with some small updates for Dijon which we’ll be sharing here following their completion, as scheduling allows. Of course we’re not through winter yet, but this was a welcome taste of what’s to come!
With Driven now being just over a month and a half away I think many are starting to feel the pressure mount as their to-do lists seem ever more daunting and ETAs for orders remain somewhat fluid. Hopefully the final packages arrive soon and the coming weekends coincide with some nice weather so that we can all get stuck in and make that final push to get the cars ready!
Anyway, this evening’s post is the second of two parts for our 2021 Chestermere Show & Shine coverage! Please check out last week’s entry if you missed it as it provides a bit more information on the weekly events, as tonight’s will be a continued gallery featuring photos spanning the various nights I attended. I look forward to the return of these for 2022, and I hope you all enjoy looking through the rest of the photos from last year’s events as we wait for the call that these are back on. It won’t be long now!
